Since the end of last year at the latest, dealing with the details surrounding the CH-REP has been part of everyday life at BEO BERLIN.
One question concerns almost all of our customers for whom the designation of a CH-REP has become necessary.
WHEN and WHERE must the CH-REP be listed?
Essentially, the situation is quite simple:
- All products still certified according to MDD only need an indication of the CH-REP and the importer on the accompanying documents (e.g. on the delivery bill). More is voluntary and not harmful, but also not required.
- MDR Class I products only need to state the CH-REP on the accompanying documents until 31.07.2023 . The same applies here: more is not harmful but is only required from August 2023. So you have it a little easier for another year.
- MDR products in other classes must have the CH-REP stated on the product or packaging. There is no further transitional period for higher-classified products.
- The importer can be named on the accompanying documents for all product classes. No information is required on the product, packaging or instructions for use.
The obligation to designate a CH-REP applies to Class I products by no later than the 31.07.2022. All other classes must already designate a CH-REP from 31.03.2022 .
