Updating of product groups 19 and 50 confirmed
On December 3, 2024, the GKV-Spitzenverband (GKV-SV) announced the revision of Product Group 50 "Care Aids to Facilitate Care" and Product Group 19 "Nursing Supplies." This revision provides an important opportunity for manufacturers and consumer organizations to actively influence the adjustment of the list.
Product group 19 ‘Nursing articles’
Additional requirements for accessible beds for people with disabilities include, among other things:
- A motorized adjustable height range for the lying surface.
- The possibility of underpass clearance for patient lifts.
- An independent adjustability of the backrest and thigh rest.
Depending on the product type:
- Mechanical emergency lowering, belt systems, and central braking systems are required.
Für Steh- und Niedrigbetten gelten spezielle Anpassungen des Höhenverstellbereichs. Bei Bettaufrichtern ist eine bestimmte Belastbarkeit des höhenverstellbaren Griffs gefordert. Zudem müssen Betten mit Sitz- und Aufrichtfunktionen eine barrierefreie Sitzposition ermöglichen.
Product group 50 ‘Care aids to facilitate care’
Specific requirements on the following points have been added to the existing requirements:
- Adjustemant ranges, of the resilience and noise generation in the adjustment of care beds.
- Requirements for special functions such as seat and upright functions and bed lifters with a specific load capacity.
- Specifications for the motorized adjustability of lying surfaces and backrests for various types of products.
