Your input to the G-BA is needed now! Statements on cold plasma treatment for chronic wounds

The G-BA has announced that it will begin consultations on a guideline for trialling cold plasma treatment for chronic wounds.

The Federal Joint Committee (G-BA) has announced that it will begin consultations on a guideline for trialling cold plasma treatment for chronic wounds.

The G-BA is therefore calling on manufacturers who believe that they are affected by the G-BA's decisions on this method to contact the G-BA and submit their comments.

The documents must be sent to the G-BA office in electronic form (e.g. as Word or PDF documents) by e-mail by 28.10.2021 .

BEO BERLIN recommends that all affected manufacturers contact the G-BA and submit their comments.

The G-BA is of the opinion that the benefits of cold plasma treatment for chronic wounds are not yet sufficiently proven, but that the method offers the potential of a necessary treatment alternative. On 15 July 2021, the G-BA decided to start consultations on a guideline for testing this method in accordance with Section 137e SGB V. This guideline will specify the study, which should allow the benefits of this method to be assessed at a sufficiently reliable level of knowledge for a subsequent guideline decision.

The assessments on the above-mentioned consultation topic should be sent to the following G-BA e-mail address using the questionnaire: erprobung137e@g-ba.de

The questionnaire and further explanations can be found on the G-BA website.
