Obstructive sleep apnoea
Die obstruktive Schlafapnoe (OSA) ist eine recht weit verbreitete und ernst zu nehmende schlafbezogene Atemstörung. Während des Schlafs kommt es wiederholt zur Verringerung oder dem kompletten Aussetzen der Atmung. Ursache dafür ist eine bis zu Minuten dauernde temporäre Verengung des Rachenraums. Der Verschluss der Atemwege führt zu einem Abfall der Sauerstoffkonzentration im Blut und einer Minderversorgung der Organe und u.a. zum wiederholten Aufwachen in einer insgesamt nichterholsamen Nacht. Die in diesem Teil behandelten Medizinprodukte lindern die Symptome der OSA und werden sowohl von Laien in der home care-Situation bedient und angewendet als auch von Profis in Gesundheitseinrichtungen.
This completely revised standard DIN EN ISO 80601-2-70:2021-06 from June 2021 replaces the standard DIN EN ISO 17510-1:2009-07, which was withdrawn in the same month this year.
Changes:
- an adaptation to DIN EN ISO 60601-1:2007-07 and to
- an adaptation to supplementary standards of the 60601 series of standards
- a revision of the performance requirements for sleep apnoea breathing therapy devices
- Addition of test procedures
- Inclusion of requirements for functional connections to support a remote connection
- Addition of an informative annex on a data interface

To fulfil the requirements, some fundamental device revisions will be necessary. In addition to the accompanying information and definitions, essential safety devices and device connections are affected by the changes.
