The new swissmedic medical devices database is scheduled for online release in August 2024. As no agreement has been reached with Brussels on the EUDAMED database, Switzerland is launching its own solution.

Since May 2021, players on the Swiss market have had to register in writing with Swissmedic in order to obtain the Swiss Single Registration Number (SRN). From August 6th, 2024, the registration must be submitted online. It should be noted that players who have already registered do not have to register again. The data transfer will be handled by the authority, so players will only need to check and confirm the hopefully error-free transmission.
