Structures and/or requirements in the HMV have been changed.
Das Hilfsmittelverzeichnis (HMV) und die Anlage Pflegehilfsmittelverzeichnis, welche der GKV-Spitzenverband gemäß §139 SGB V erstellt, ist ein systematically structured catalogue.This catalogue lists the aids covered by the health and long-term care insurance funds.
The catalogue is divided into 37 different product groups (PG) based on the respective therapeutic objective. The nursing aids catalogue consists of a furthe 4 product groups..
Two product groups were recently updated: product group 23 orthoses and product group 52 care aids for more independent living/mobility. This means that structures and/or requirements have changed.
Update of product group 23 Orthoses/splints
The following changes have been summarised in product group 23 Orthoses and the product group:
- Definitions, formulations and technical terms were reviewed and, among other things, adapted to the MDR , .
- The description of various product types was made more specific to enable clearer individual product categorisation.
- Previous NN product types have been integrated.

Update of product group 52 Care aids for more independent living/mobility
Care aids in this product subgroup are intended to support people in need of care to remain independent in their own familiar home for longer and to help maintain their independence.
3 product subgroups and their product types have been updated:
- 52.40.02 Accessories for home emergency call systems
- 52.40.02.0 Alarm transmitters
- 52.40.03 Care aids to improve cognitive and communicative abilities
- 52.40.03.0 Care aids for local orientation
- 52.40.03.1 Care aids for time orientation
- 52.40.03.2 Reminders for important events
- 52.40.03.3 Products for recognising risks and dangers
- 52.40.04 Care aids for coping with and independently dealing with illness- or therapy-related demands and stresses
- 52.40.04.0 Products to support the taking of medication
- 52.40.04.1 Products for measuring and interpreting body conditions

You should pay appropriate attention to the so-called HMV-Updates and the associated requests from the GKV-Spitzenverband to update the documents. The focus is on responding in a timely and appropriate manner. Wer auf die Änderung von Anforderungen verschiedenster Art nicht reagiert erlebt, dass die gelisteten Produkte aus dem Hilfsmittelverzeichnis gestrichen werden. Schwierigkeiten bei der Kostenerstattung sind dann fast unvermeidbar.
