The Single Registration Number (SRN) ensures EU-wide unique identification of economic operators (also outside of EUDAMED).
It is required by law and must be applied for in the EUDAMED ‘actor registration module’. So much for the summarised requirement. We reported on the activated module in the article "EUDAMED - Actor registration module in operation from 12.2020„
The module in question is currently still voluntary to use, as EUDAMED is not yet fully operational. Nevertheless, many manufacturers are already using the module and applying for the SRN via it.

- Once you have successfully applied, you can start the registration process.
Our enquiry with a responsible state authority revealed that incoming applications currently have to be put aside. Applicants are not always informed that no SRN can currently be issued. However, it is planned to issue corresponding information to applicants on 26.05.2021 . This will also point out that DIMDI entries are not automatically transferred to EUDAMED, as many people assumed.
All economic operators already registered with DIMDI will have to completely re-register themselves.
